Saints Nation: Stanley Arnoux tears Achilles tendon, out for the year.

One and done Stanley Arnoux. Arnoux suffered a torn Achilles tendon yesterday, Cam Cleeland's injury of choice, and will not play in 2009 (story here). There goes one of the four Saints' draft choices in the blink of an eye. Shades of Chase Lyman immediately come to mind as the Saints find another player that cannot make it through one practice. That is absolutely TERRIBLE luck, and we wish Arnoux the best for a quick recovery. This means guys like Troy Evans, Marvin Mitchell and Jo-Lonn Dunbar will now have a better shot at making the roster, and they'll need to step up their game in the absence of this promising rookie.

So far the Saints are off to a bad start in reducing the amount of injuries they suffered last year. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come. As for Arnoux, he'll have to work very hard in rehab and try to come back ready for 2010. Sad to see the rookie minicamp start this way.
